Jade Kai is a writer, educator, and artist studying what it means to be ‘human’ from a queer & trans of color lens.

Kai is of mixed African American and European ancestry and was born and raised in New York City. They hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies from Syracuse University.

They are a PhD Candidate at Stony Brook University in the department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Kai uses the gender pronouns ‘they’ and ‘he.’
